Greetings Swap Friends! How have you been? We are starting to feel the swap itch, and are beginning to scheme up some swapping for later this year. Stay tuned here, or follow us on facebook or twitter, where we'll post any events, fun swap links, and the occasional "vintage" swap photo. Did you make it out to the shanties this winter? What was your favorite? We were sad not to be out there, but were too geographically scattered to make it happen--Angela just back from India, Julie heading off to China, and Dana out in sunny LA. A couple of us did sneak onto the ice for a visit, and it was a fantastic shanty village this year! The spinning sphere, the government agencies, the giant robot, the pinbox camera helmets--awesome! So...here's the deal: We are unable to do the swap this winter, due to overseas travels and other exciting diversions. HOWEVER, if any of you awesome swappers want to make an application & take the reins of this super-fun mid-winter project, we'd be happy to pass on all our knowledge. We had so much fun on the Open Field today! What a pleasant place to spend an afternoon. We had lots of repeat visitors (Art Swap Aficionados!), new ones, and some great on-the-spot art improv. On Saturday, February 12, we'll be hosting an indoor party in the North Loop to raise funding for 2012 and unveil exciting plans for the future of the project. Join organizers, long-time artists and fellow fans for food, drinks, entertainment and great company. This is an intimate opportunity to meet the artists off the ice ...and to get a snapshot of the on-ice experience without having to bundle up! It's January and that means you are probably feeling the lack of Art Shanties this year. Do not fret!
