Due to some this-es and thats, the shanty season has been decreased by one week, and will end on Feb. 7--so be sure to visit before then!

The first Art Shanty Project meeting was today at Grumpy's on Washington.  I must admit, I left with a teensy bit of a "What have we gotten ourselves into?!" feeling, but mostly I'm excited!  Many of the folks in the crowd have had shanties in the past, so I look forward to taking advantage of their wisdom.  It sounds like (no surprise) staying warm and working with (instead of against) the wind will be our biggest challenges.

The build will officially begin Dec. 1st.  In the meantime, contact us if you are in LA and have yarn for Dana (she's working on the pom-pom), or if you are in Minneapolis and have old knitted "afghan" blankets for Julie--preferably with some wool content.

We are also looking for:
-a wood stove
-volunteers!  (forget what i said about the cold, it will be fun! a memory maker...)
- probablly a whole bunch of other stuff we haven't even anticipated yet
