As you heard below, the batteries didn't make it through day 7, but imagine, if you will, moose costumes and folk band, and hopefully you can conjure up what we are missing here. :) Addendum on 2/22: We found some missing photos! Sounds like y'all are getting anxious to see the final pics! A devilish part of me is tempted to drag it out but...now I will be posting them within the hour! We took down the dear shanty yesterday--a few hours labor and it's back to a pile of lumber and a giant pom. Be sure to check out the journal to see those pics! Wow! The last weekend continued to be filled with great crowds of excited, wintery Minnesotans! What a great run its been! Apparently there were some rapping Moose, a folk band, a performance . . . so much for you to see! Alas, we did lose battery power on the camera Saturday afternoon, so we may have to have Matt's memory fill you in. But we still have tons & tons of pics and I'll get them up as soon as we collect them from all our fabulous shanty sitters. THANKS SO MUCH to all who came out! Day 6, as busy as ever. Scott, Kaara, Angela, Amber and Julie woman'd and man'd the Swaps. I haven't counted the swaps yet...the tallies got out of control.... Okay, I counted them! I'm calling it ONE HUNDRED SWAPS today, for a Grand Total of Four Hundred and Ninety-Nine! Uff-da! And...the troubadour was back with another song to play! We are overwhelmed with the excitement of today! We had no idea there would be 94 swaps! Woah! Opening Day blew our minds! Nothing like 30+ degree temps to get Minnesotans enthusiastic in January! People were so excited about what they left with, and it was fascinating to see who swapped what for what. Some deliberated and wandered around, some went straight to the piece they wanted. We hope to add caption details...but with 94 swaps it may be a few days. Great day on the ice! See you tomorrow! |
