Like all swap meets, ours will hold treasures to surprise and delight our visitors. The Ice Art Swaps shanty will be filled to the brim with intriguing art objects, and visitors are invited to swap their own art for any work that strikes their fancy.
Throughout the 4 weeks, we will supplement the shelves with artwork donated by friends and fellow artists from Minneapolis, New York and Los Angeles and beyond.
Come with your art and trade for a work that inspires you! When folks enter and leave the Ice Art Swap, "Before and After" portraits will be taken of each visitor holding their item to trade and treasure gained.

WHO ARE WE? creators & team members
D + J way back in '97.
Dana Maiden lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. She earned a BA in Visual Arts, Art History and English from Columbia University and an MFA in Sculpture and Photography from Claremont Graduate University. She is the 2008 recipient of the Feitelson Fellowship, and recently had a solo exhibitions at the Los Angeles Municipal Gallery and Proekt Fabrika in Moscow, Russia. Her work has been shown at the UCR California Museum of Photography, the Vincent Price Art Museum, High Energy Constructs, Solway Jones Gallery, Track 16 Gallery, and the Wignall Museum of Contemporary Art. Dana grew up in Minnesota, and has been friends with Julie and Scott Kesti since she was 12 years old.

Julie Kesti is a Shiatsu massage therapist, and co-owner of Chakra Khan Massage and Asian Bodywork in Minneapolis She participates in the arts by making art and by hosting artist exhibitions at Chakra Khan, in the Ivy Building for the arts. She met Dana in 8th grade where they created their alter-egos Barbie and Marge, in their talk show about recycling. She looks forward to another fun project with her old friend.
Scott Kesti (pictured below) is a builder and furniture maker who lives just a few blocks off Medicine Lake in Plymouth, MN. A long-time resident of Ely, MN, he knows how to brave the cold with the best of them. He is one of Julie's three older brothers and may have some serious flashbacks to the early '90s once he is forced to spend hours inside a tiny hut with Julie and Dana.
